Our grief is not without a hope
These tears are not in vain
For there is one who weeps with us
Who sees, and knows our pain
In humble shame, upon the cross
He suffered in our place
To fully drink death’s bitter cup
That we might know his grace

This God who stepped into our fall
and crushed the serpent’s head
Now stands in triumph from the tomb
He’s risen from the dead
As sin no longer has domain
He’s purchased our release
His resurrection speaks a word
That brings eternal peace

While still we feel the sting of death
And sin yet marrs this world
In faith we wait and work until
His kingdom is unfurled
